Humans beings are hard-wired to be emotionally connected to one another, and I believe healthy, supportive relationships are central to the well-being of couples, individuals, families and communities.
I love working with couples, and as your couple therapist, my primary objective is to help you and your partner create connection together. When we feel securely attached to someone, we thrive. When our attachments are threatened we suffer. Our work together will support you and your partner as you learn to speak the language of connection. When you do this, It takes your relationship out of negative interactional cycles and restores it to its rightful status as a place of emotional safety, belonging and acceptance.
During a typical couple session I guide you toward sharing deeply with your partner. I will teach you to notice moment-to-moment shifts in your partner’s emotions, facial expressions, body language, and vocal tone and how these impact the way you interact. Knowing how to do this will help you deeply understand each other, and skillfully manage conflict when it arises.
Our work together can help you strengthen your emotional bond, deepen intimacy and build a lifetime of love.
